Snow..Snow and More Snow!

Well it is Ohio and we do get snow in Ohio (big shock) but this was the worst snow storm I’ve seen since 1999 here in Columbus.  The week started off fabulous on Monday with 60 degrees and sunshine …but by Friday all of that changed.  When I left for the office on Friday morning at around 7am it was mid 40’s and didn’t look like it was going to be a bad day…but again…all that changed by 9am as it got colder and started to snow and by 4pm in the afternoon…it was a winter wonderland …and the freeways….what a bitch!

By the time I woke up on Saturday morning, we had over 18 inches in Grove City….now while this is very bad and something that we haven’t seen for years…..the Columbus media outlets turned it into a TMZ style media frenzy.  Both NBC4 and WBNS 10tv extended their regular weekend local morning news shows all the way up to 1pm…with anchors staying on the air non stop with zero and or limited commercial interruption….it was like watching news coverage of the first fucking snow storm to EVER hit Columbus, Ohio.  Of course like a “train wreck” I watched all the coverage…I watched NBC4 which had NO commercial interruptions and had reports in the field to report on different areas of the city as well as the general viewing area…..they went to any extreme to report on the “Blizzard of 08″ complete with graphics…..special music intros and all the hype of reporter stupidity ….like Tacoma Newsome who was in Deleware county (just north of the city) measuring the snow with “Bags of Slyders” (for those of you who don’t know…a slyder is a hamburger from White Castle) at one point she stacked 3 large bags of slyders to show just how deep the snow really was….and then she stacked cups of Panera coffee to again….show how deep the snow was…..Ms Girl pulled out all the stops when she extended a tape measure to show the level of visibility in the area as she walked away from the cameraman….i was waiting for the bitch to fall as she walked backwards.   While I love me some Marshall McPeek (our local homo weather diva/anchor) and his side kick the fabulous fag hag Mindy Drayer they had me about ready to slash my wrist after watching for 5 hours …but they really did do a fabulous job covering it and showing people just how bad it was and warning them not to venture out…..It was really a hot mess of who can stay on the air longer (NBC4 or 10TV) the winner was NBC4 who finally wrapped it up at 1pm ….wow….was it really worth sitting in those chairs all that time for ratings…hmmm maybe.

Anyway….I’m so glad that I wasn’t moving this weekend..and that next weekend (moving weekend) is to be in the high 50’s with no rain or snowwwwww…thank god!

to give you an idea of just how much snow we got…if you notice I have a couple bags of trash and an old table sitting outside my door…the table is an old coffee table that I was throwing out the day before in prep for the move…it is almost covered and right now it is covered!

and of course the dogs really got into the snow….and deep…this is a pick i took of BabyBoi (Sydney) at 7am this morning and this was just part of it…he got all up to his neck in the crap this afternoon….he really likes the snow…..unlike…..Black Bitch (aka Monica) who only likes it when your out playing in it with her….she hates to go pee pee in the snow and doing the number 2 in the snow….is a trip…….she has to clear an area first…it’s the funniest thing ever.

so….today was fun….I hope all this shit is totally melted and gone by the time I move …one week from today!
